Vacuums are one of those objects in the home we can’t live without yet they can be a bit of a pain in the arse too.  They all seem to come in various sizes, shapes and brands it can be difficult to know what to buy.

Just looking at the manufacturer’s description is not always a good indication of how suitable it is for your needs.  For instance, we bought a VAX which is supposed to be suitable for pet hairs.  The problem is that the bristles keep getting tangled with hair and the hairs have to be removed after each room.

Not quite what we had in mind.

So how do we get an idea of how good a vacuum is without actually trying every single one on the market?  One option is to read up consumer reviews on the internet.  Wize is one such site with vacuum cleaner ratings.  They link out to reviews people have made on various other sites such as sears and shopping.com.  This saves you a lot of time in searching for these reviews yourself.
