If you are the sort of person who is constantly looking for something that bit different and don’t mind paying extra, leather floor tiles is something that will certainly appeal to you.

There are a number of ways in which you can use leather tiles, not only on the floor but also on the walls. Because embossing leather is common in other products such as shoes and jackets this is something that can also be done on leather tiles. So let your imagination run wild.

Leather Flooring is Durable

Tree bark is used to tan the leather which is what makes it so durable. The leather then can be dyes with a variety of colours. The tiles can be used in a variety of setting - both residential and commercial - however it is advised that you should avoid installing leather tiles in areas where there is lots of water and moisture such as a bathroom or kitchen. Also you will need to make sure that the humidity of your room is kept above 20% and away from direct sunlight.

Custom Sizes and Color

Leather tiles generally come in standard sizes although if you have other sizes in mind then contact the suppliers to enquire about a custom die. You are also not stuck with choosing standard colours which means you can easily match the leather to other furniture in your room. When thinking about playing a custom order you will need to be aware that there is usually a minimum order, around about 300 sq. ft.

Caring for Your Leather Tiles

Over time the leather will age and develop an attractive patina. For day to day maintenance simply sweep with a soft brush, wipe with a lightly damp mop and then 1-2 times a year apply bees wax.

Recycled Leather Floors

If you prefer to buy products which are recycled and eco-friendly then look out for leather tiles which are made from recycled leather.
