Garden Landscaping Pavers

There are many reasons you may be looking for garden paving. Some people just simply do not want to bother with caring for a lawn so lay down landscaping pavers instead. Alternatively you may want pavers to create an attractive driveway. Whatever your reasons, you will need to read up about the different choices you have available.

Driveway

Because cars are heavy objects you will need to buy pavers which can withstand this weight and not crack. Driveway pavers are manufactured specifically for the wear and tear which it will receive when driven over everyday for years to come. You can also buy driveway pavers to match regular landscaping pavers so that you can achieve a unified look. Because oil spills are inevitable, you should make sure that you seal the pavers to prevent permanent staining.

You can choose to have your pavers mortared or mortarless. If your pavers have mortar between the gaps then it makes them very inflexible meaning that they can easily crack. If you have them mortarless you place sand in-between the pavers instead which makes it solid but flexible.

Retaining Walls

If you plan on building a raised bed then you will need to make sure that you also build a retaining wall. Raised beds are ideal if, for instance, you have chalk soil and want to grow acid-loving plants – a raised bed allows you to create the perfect growing conditions for these plants.

Footpath

Unless you want people to walk through mud, you will need to build a footpath either out of pavers, gravel or similar material. Because pavers come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colours you can create a really stunning footpath. You may be surprised to know that paving stones are stronger than concrete, can withstand heat and cold, are resistant to earthquakes and can easily be replaced if needed.

Patios

Most people with a garden have a patio for obvious reasons – to enjoy their outdoor space and have meals and drinks outside with friends. If your garden doesn’t have a patio or you want to replace the one you have then pavers are an ideal choice. If you are selling your home and want to achieve the best price, people will expect to see a patio area to enjoy their outdoor space.

With all the benefits landscaping pavers can offer you will find it difficult to settle with any other material. Do you really want concrete which will crack?
