Unfortunately you might also have a ceiling which has asbestos in it.  Whenever you hear the word asbestos you automatically think of asbestosis and also the cost of having it removed.  Deciding whether you have asbestos in your ceiling is not easy to do unless you are a professional.  Make sure you have the necessary tests to see whether you actually do have asbestos or not.  Removal is not something you should undertake youself as asbestos needs to be removed by those with the appropriate equipment.
