Decorating a bedroom is so important because it’s where you go to relax and recover from the stresses of daily life. However it’s surprising just how much people neglect this very important room. Prints can come in so many styles you’ll be amazed at the choice. You can find just about any style to suit your bedroom, whether it’s Victorian, floral, Tuscan or contemporary. Try and be bold by buying just a few large prints rather than several small ones as this will give you a more sleek and stylish look. If you want to give your room a feeling that you are in Paradise, there are frames made from natural materials such as bamboo and they can contain prints of exotic flora and fauna.
Another great idea for creating your own bedroom artwork is to get out into your garden and pick some flowers and leaves for pressing. You simply place them in a book or buy a flower press. If you don’t want to wait for them to be pressed you can even buy them already done from online stores and art shops. You can arrange these pressed flowers and leaves in all sorts of designs. You can create fairly complex designs or simply have 3 leaves placed vertically next to each other. Many of these leaves have been dyed bright colors which gives you a very contemporary look rather than the country cottage look.
Another main focal point to the room is obviously the bed. Simply buying some fresh new sheets can make the world of difference. Sheets tend to fade and get a bit tatty over the years so buying new ones will help improve the overall look of the room. Pillows can look great too. There are many designed to be decorative with gorgeous materials, sequins, beads and tassels. Buying a couple of these can really bring your bedding alive and more inviting.
If your carpeting in looking a bit tired but you don’t want to go out and buy a new one, you may want to consider buying a rug. There are many styles of rug to choose from including Persian and modern. It’s also a good idea to lay a rug down if you have wooden floors as this can help protect them from wear a tear. Plus they help to soften the hardness of wood.
